This article talks about how one solar farm in California will actually double the USA's solar productuion! What an amazing concept. The downside is that there still is a possibility that it could be blocked by the public. The other downside is that will take three years to complete. Hopefully during that three year period solar panel technology and effeciency will greatly improve making this solar farm even more valuable.
Now if only all of the available renewable energy producing enities would work together, we could be become energy independent. There are so many available renewable resources vying for supremacy in energy production, that we the people may left waiting. If there is any way that all of these entities can work together to make us stronger and energy independent, I hope that it happens.
Some people wonder which entity to back so that we become energy independent sooner. Well my friend, there really isn't one that will work for all. So I say develope all of them so that we all can reach the same goal- energy independence.

Straw Homes – Straw Bale Construction - The Daily Green
Have you ever wanted to build a home out of alternative materials? Have you ever considered straw bales? Yes straw bales. They insulate your home very well and your walls will be at least 12 inches thick. The R value of the insulation will shoot way up, meaning it will cost less to heat and cool your space. Take a look at the homes in the link below, I think you might be suprised.
There are books available to teach about this style and other alternative building products. The only real way we can really improve the effeciency of energy loss/gain between our homes and the environment is to better insulate our homes. The thicker the walls (with appropriate materials i.e. straw bales, rammed earth, ICF's, recycled blue jeans etc), the better they are insulated and the lower your utility bills. If you add in either wind or solar panels your electric bills could be almost -0-.
Take a look, you might find some inspiring ideas.

The eStar - eStar Electric Vehicle
This all electric delivery vehicle could be the start of something really great! This particular delivery truck travels up to 100 miles per charge. Just imagine how much of a difference a fleet of these would make in CO2 pollution. Yes I know, the electricity it takes to charge them up also pollutes. However, consider the possibility of parking/charging garage with both wind turbines and solar panels charging the trucks. THAT could be a game changer.
According to their website they also are fully upgradeable. So any advances in battery technology can be easily installed making this an investment for all of our futures. Hey DHL, FedEx, UPS and USPS have you taken a look or better yet- put in your order? I think you should!!

Michigan Solar Panel Factory's Labor-Intensive Assembly Tasks Moved To Mexico : TreeHugger
This article helps explain why the United States of America will continue to fall behind in the sustainability field. If big business continues to outsource their production, Made in the USA will be a thing of the past.
I remember from my youth when made in the USA was something to be proud of. We were leaders of the world with our high quality products. Once manufacturing went outside of our borders, the quality of the merchandise we buy has deteriorated.
Jeep has a great American commercil talking about American pride in their products. I applaud them for trying to bring pride back to America.
If we are to be a REAL world leader, we have to bring production back to our shores and stop giving tax breaks to companies who go outside the USA for our products. I say that NAFTA needs to be rexamined or changed completely, then maybe- the USA will be strong AGAIN!
